Digital Media Design

The audiovisual world is one of technology, artistry, communication, and engineering. In the multimedia field, the best projects combine all these parts coherently. That's why when I founded Digital Media Design in 2004, I knew it couldn't be just another A/V consulting company. DMD does more than designing and consulting: we assist on video productions, provide technical support, perform training, and manage entire projects. Not only has our reputation earned us Fortune 500 clientele, but we have a strong rapport with local businesses. Our projects range from $10,000 to $10,000,000. That's because DMD gets things done with cohesion and a personal finesse that you can rely on. Take a look through our core competencies below and see how Digital Media Design can help your next project come to life with the unified vision you imagine.

Design

We design turnkey audiovisual and broadcast production facilities. We begin with conceptual drawings that include equipment layouts and signal flow. Once these drawings are approved, we develop construction documents detailing any structural requirements, power requirements, conduit risers, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, and elevations. In addition, we develop a set of signal drawings that include single line CAD diagrams for video, audio, control, and network.

    Cost Savings

A thoroughly engineered system provided by an AV Consultant with detailed CAD drawings, bid specifications and submittal requirements will save money, time and headaches. Tightly written specifications composed by an independent AV Consultant allows a level competitive bidding process by multiple qualified systems integrators. The client attains value and performance with their system.

    Consulting

The functional requirements of any audiovisual system is built around the user's needs. Digital Media Design conducts a needs analysis with your team to examine the applications, tasks, and functions required for the new project. Our consulting includes budget plannning, space planning, and cost of ownership. Our specifications are written in the CSI format. We work side-by-side with your contractors to ensure the initial construction drawings are accurate and if necessary, provide any additional documentation required. We also review the construction project timeline and include necessary AV milestones to the schedule in order to coordinate the AV integration with the rest of the construction project.

    Thunderbird Global Mindset Institute

  • Client:Thunderbird School of Global Management
  • Date completed:2012
  • Budget: $1,000,000

  • Remodeled building consisting of two auditoriums, a distance learning classroom, several breakout rooms, experiential learning classrooms, and a full video production studio with greenscreen.

    Years of Expertise

By combining successful techniques from previous projects with emerging technologies in the industry, we ensure that your system is both reliable and cutting-edge. By leveraging knowledge of proven methods, close relationships with manufacturers, and keeping up-to-date on new equipment we provide results that are flexible, long-lasting and easy to use.

    Project Management

Digital Media Design acts as your representative during the integration process by working alongside the AV contractors and others to ensure the project is completed on time and within the budget. We conduct a kickoff meeting with the AV contractor and begin the phase one submittal process. Before any equipment is ordered, we review the list with the contractor. As the facility is pre-wired, we monitor progress and construction practices of the contractor. Upon substantial completion, we create a final punchlist and ensure all items are brought to closure. After final submittals, we perform testing and alignment, then authorize final acceptance.

    Thunderbird Global Broadcast Center

We know how to fix and run the gear

Being involved in video production gives us a leg up on designing and maintaining production systems. Placement of monitors, control surfaces and logical routing/patching all contribute to a great finished product. Keeping a cool head during production comes with experience and confidence of knowing how to operate, interconnect and troubleshoot a production system. Once the technical aspects are in line for a production, allow us to be part of the crew.

    Training

We provide several tiers of training for our clients. We train end-users and technical staff in the complete operation, maintenance and trouble-shooting of their system. Regardless of who designed or installed your facility we can help teach you and your staff how operate or maintain classroom av systems, video or web conferencing tools, or video production equipment. We take pride in communicating highly technical concepts into layman’s terms.
